Applications are open for Juniors interested in joining the Avera Academy next year. Avera Academy is a dual credit program in partnership with Avear and Southeast Tech. Selected students will take half of their classes in the medical field at STC and have first hand experiences in the healthcare field.
Applications are available in the counseling office, as well as on the WHS counseling website. Applications are due by Friday, January 6th.
Freshman, sophomores, and juniors: Look for a yearbook survey in your email from Principal Kooima coming soon. Your answers are important to us; the best responses will be featured in the 2023 yearbook. Survey closes December 4th.
Don't forget to pick up your tickets for the Winter Formal this Saturday, December 3rd. Tickets will be sold during Warrior Halftime Monday - Friday this week. The price is $10 per ticket in advance or $15 at the door.

Due to forecasted winter weather that could make travel dangerous, two semi-final volleyball matches involving Sioux Falls Public Schools and West River schools will be played on Wednesday, Nov 9, 2022. The SDHSAA has approved this one-time schedule change for the safety of athletes, coaches, and fans traveling across the state. The games to be played in the eastern half of the state remain scheduled for Thursday. Please check with your schools/coaches for any additional information.

And with a blink of an eye, we are already a quarter way through the 2022-2023 school year! The second quarter is here, and it’s a busy one! While this time of year tends to get chaotic, it’s important to remember how crucial student attendance is. Chronic absenteeism is a serious problem in South Dakota - a problem SFSD is committed to improving. Missing just two days a month can hurt a student’s grades and increase their chance of dropping out. Make sure your student is on the path to a bright future – and that starts in the classroom!
Attention all students interested in trying out for basketball sideline cheerleading: Tryouts will be November 14, 15, and 16 from 3:15-5:15 PM each day in the Main Gym. Please make sure you have completed the required online registration forms and have a current physical form turned in to the WHS Activities Office as soon as possible. See Coach Jones in A200 and Coach Franzen in A116 with questions and to get your name on the sign-up sheet.

The Warriors won the hip hop category, placed 2nd in the jazz category, and placed second in the Grand Champion competition.
We are so incredibly proud of this team and Warrior Nation! The school showed up and we executed our routines to the absolute best of our abilities. Their passion and enthusiasm for each other and the sport of dance readiated in their final performances.
