Native American Students: We are having our first Okichiyapi Club meeting of the year on Thursday, September 12 at 3:15 pm in room A123. We will be discussing all of our activities and projects for the year including door decorating for Homecoming and our Native American Day celebrations. Registration for the PSAT is now open in the Counseling Office. The PSAT is recommended for four-year college-bound students. The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 9th at WHS. The cost is $25 and the registration deadline is Thursday, September 12th.
The WHS Drama Club will hold auditions for the fall play on Tuesday, September 10th at 3:15pm in the Little Theatre. If you are interested in tech or backstage crew this is also the time to get signed up. Please stop by Mr. Reiner's room A139, or Mr. Haddican's room A137 to pick up an audition form.
If you are interested in participating in Girls Basketball this winter, please plan to attend a meeting at 7:40am in the main gym on Wednesday, September 4th.

Last Friday students in the beginner guitar class at Washington High School held an end-of-the-year recital. Playing one song with 30+ guitars is no easy task, but these students rocked it out! This is the second year SFSD has offered guitar classes as part of the Fine Arts program, and it's just one more reason we've been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education!

Wow! SFSD is so grateful to the Sioux Falls STORM, LEVO, and media partners KELOLand TV for supporting Operation Hope & Caring where $18,417 was raised to support elementary schools that don't have PTAs/PTOs. We had a great time at the game and especially enjoyed the WIN! ❤️
Tonight is THE night! Come out to support SFSD elementary schools without PTAs/PTOs as the Sioux Falls STORM take on the Green Bay Blizzard. It's also Star Wars night, so wear your gear and bring your lightsaber to this fun family event sponsored by LEVO Credit Union!
The Weather Service indicates the greatest threat of severe weather did not materialize in Sioux Falls. We will begin our bus routes at approximately 3pm, so there will be a slight delay in getting elementary and middle school students home. High School dismisses at normal time.
Due to the weather 4-30-24, SFSD will hold all elementary students who walk or ride the bus until the system passes. We expect the system to arrive about 2:45pm and be done around 3pm. Busses will not leave the elementary schools until it is safe to do so. This will also cause a delay in middle school bus routes, so plan accordingly. If wx is still an issue at high school dismissal time, we will encourage students to wait to leave until the system passes. Thank you.
